September 2020 – Grindelwald

A walking holiday that might not have happened – but nothing was amiss when we booked in 2019, and when we paid the balance the 2020 the Covid-19 situation appeared to be improving. And then the day after we arrived Switzerland was put on the self isolate on return – but as we were there our insurance was valid (we hope!) and we were allowed to stay.

The eagle eyed may spot this was a 12 night holiday rather than our more usual 14 nighter….Easyjet cancelled our flights…we only found out when we went to confirm, all credit to Inghams for pulling out the stops for reorganising flights and to the Hotel Eiger for allowing us to change dates at late notice.

We enjoyed Grindelwald and would be happy to return.

09/03/2017 – another bogoff – La Villa (Italy) and Fuschl (Austria)

La Villa (Italy) and Fuschl (Austria) are our 19th and 20th walking pages on wordpress, and we have now caught up with the backlog and so need to go on another self led walking holiday before we do any more pages.

However Dennis is still mostly confined to barracks due to a broken ankle (clean and stable fracture, so hopefully a full recovery in due course) and no walking holidays for us at the moment.  Sadly (for us) we had to cancel our Ramblers Walking holiday to La Palma – today would have been our travel home day.

23/02/2017 – two for the price of one – Englberg (Switzerland) and Galtur (Austria)

Engleberg (Switzerland) and Galtur (Austria) are our 17th and 18th walking pages on wordpress.

We have just two more pages to do  – Fuschl (Austria) – one week with Dennis’ Mum and Aunt in 2008 and La Villa (Italy) from 2015 and then we will have caught up.

Dennis is laid up with a broken ankle (clean and stable fracture, so hopefully a full recovery in due course) and so we have been able to catch up faster than planned!
